Aircraft Communication Antennas
Aircraft communication antennas connect the VHF COM radios used for air traffic control, tower, ground and air-to-air communication. This category covers the blade, rod and bent-whip COM antennas we stock, listed by manufacturer part number with connector type, mounting style and hole pattern taken directly from the manufacturer data. If you are replacing an existing antenna, search the part number you removed — most COM antennas are ordered as a like-for-like replacement rather than selected from scratch.

Choosing the Right Communication Antenna
Most COM antenna decisions start with the radio and the airframe, not the antenna. Confirm which transceiver the antenna serves, whether the aircraft carries one or two COM systems, and what was previously installed in that position. Where two COM antennas are fitted, separation and placement are driven by the airframe and the approved data rather than by the antenna itself.
After that, the practical differences between candidates are physical: antenna style, overall height, footprint and mounting hole pattern, and the airspeed the antenna is rated for. Blade antennas are commonly used where airspeed and drag matter; rod and bent-whip antennas are widely used on lighter airframes. Always check the airspeed rating and mechanical data published by the antenna manufacturer for the specific part number.
Connector and Mounting Considerations
COM antennas in this catalog are supplied with the connector type listed on each product page. Match that connector against the coax already installed in the aircraft and the equipment it terminates into — an otherwise correct antenna is the wrong part if the connector and cable do not match the installation.
Mounting hole count and pattern are listed per part number where the manufacturer publishes them. Reuse of an existing hole pattern is a maintenance decision that must be assessed against the approved data for the aircraft, not assumed from the catalog.
