GPS and WAAS antennas feed the navigators, flight displays and position sources used for RNAV and LPV-capable operations. This category lists the GPS and GPS/WAAS antennas we stock, including combined units that serve more than one system, with connector type and mounting footprint from the manufacturer data. Because a GPS antenna has to be matched to the navigator it feeds, the equipment installation manual — not the antenna catalog — determines which part number is acceptable.

Start from the navigator or position source. GPS receivers specify which antennas may be used with them, and WAAS-capable equipment is generally more specific still. Whether an antenna is acceptable for a given receiver is stated in the equipment manufacturer's documentation and the approved data for the installation.
Also confirm whether the aircraft needs a GPS-only antenna or a combined antenna that shares a footprint with another system, such as a COM or satellite datalink function. Combined units reduce the number of penetrations in the skin, but each internal element still has to be acceptable to the equipment it feeds.
GPS antenna performance is sensitive to the coax installation. Cable type, length and loss between the antenna and the receiver are specified by the receiver manufacturer, and the connector on the antenna must match the cable assembly used in the aircraft. Each product page lists the connector supplied on that part number.
Footprint and hole pattern matter when replacing an existing antenna. Where the manufacturer publishes a standard pattern, it is listed with the product; verify it against the antenna installation instructions and the approved data before drilling or reusing holes.
